Monona Serenity Group, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, created in 1985 to provide meeting space to recovering alcoholics and their families and friends, and to provide related services as necessary to carry out that purpose. Our primary purpose is to provide a safe, clean space for AA, Al-Anon and other 12-step groups to meet. Our clubhouse was built in 2006 and is home to meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous (including Spanish speaking meetings), Al-Anon Family Groups, Narcotics Anonymous, Nicotine Anonymous, Nar-Anon, Co-Dependents Anonymous and Adult Children of Alcoholics.

Monona Serenity Group, Inc. is run by a Board of Directors which is elected at the annual meeting each September. Anyone who has been a member of the clubhouse for twelve consecutive months is eligible to run for office and anyone who has been a member for three consecutive months is eligible to vote.

The Board of Directors meets on the second Sunday of October, December, February, April, June, and August at 6pm at the clubhouse. Meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

The clubhouse is supported by memberships, donations, and fundraisers. Each group donates 80% of its collections to the club. A separate basket is passed for the clubhouse operations.

The Prairie Dock Steering Committee consists of AA members from all of the groups which meet at the clubhouse and provides a unified leadership for the AA program at Monona Serenity. The Chair of the Prairie Dock Steering Committee is automatically a member of the Board of Directors. In addition, two members of AA serve alternating two year terms on the Board as AA representatives.

Each Al-Anon group elects a Group Representative. The Al-Anon GRs meet quarterly to provide unity and leadership for the Al-Anon program within the club. Two positions on the Board of Directors are filled by Al-Anon members as well.
